World Book Day

World Book Day

On Thursday, 7th March 2019, it is World Book Day. This year’s theme is ‘Share a story’ so a large part of our day will involve the children sharing their favourite books with their friends, teachers and you! At the end of the day from 2:30pm, we are inviting all parents and carers to join us in class and the hall for a special Share a Story Afternoon with your child. We hope that many of you will be able to join your children in class to share in a love of reading.

As part of the World Book Day celebrations, we are inviting the children to come to school either dressed as their favourite character from a book OR in pyjamas. Children may also wish to bring their favourite book into school with them to share with their class. Please do not buy a costume specially, there are many easy to make costume ideas available on the World Book Day Website, or pyjamas are a great alternative!

Red Nose Day

On Friday, 15th March 2019 it is Red Nose Day. The school council have met and suggested in order to raise money for the charity that all staff and children come to school dressed in non-school uniform and bring a suggested donation of £1.

Red nose merchandise will also be on sale after school from next week.

St George’s Day

On Tuesday, 23rd April (after the Easter break) it is St George’s Day. The children will be taking part in a range of St George themed activities throughout the day and if they wish are invited to come to school dressed in red and white. However this is not compulsory.

We look forward to sharing these special events with you and your children. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
