'Let's Celebrate!'

Last year in the Sparkling Seahorses class ......

Today, the Seahorses have been exploring weather. We made our own tools to help us be weather forecasters- wind socks and sun catchers!

Seahorses have been learning about minibeasts today! We have been using words to describe what they look like. We created some fantastic sketches that match our descriptions!

Seahorse’s Jigsaw lesson today was all about food, glorious food! We chatted about healthy and unhealthy food, then prepared and ate our own healthy sandwiches! They were ‘delicious’ and ‘tasty’.

We LOVE the ‘Hairy Maclary’ books in our class, so in this week‘s Story Club we read a few of his stories and made our own Hairy Maclary picture!

Seahorses choosing books that interest them in the library on #WorldBookDay2024

Designing and creating our own book characters out of… potatoes!! We had to get very creative but we've all done super job!

A fantastic class full of crazy characters and comfy pyjamas in Seahorses #WorldBookDay2024

Designing our own superhero masks in Story club after sharing ‘Zippo the Super Hippo’

Fantastic patience and teamwork from these Seahorses! Working together on our tricky marble run.

Seahorse class practicing their art skills this afternoon. We all know that when drawing people they must have a head, body, arms and legs.

We tried shouting up to the giant but he couldn’t hear us! One Seahorse said we should try writing him a letter! We wrote some letters and drew him some pictures to say sorry. We hope he will find them and come down for his things by the morning

Seahorses having fun in the snow! We collected it in our buckets and weighed them to see who had collected the most!

Seahorses tasted some Chinese foods this afternoon. We even had a go at using chopsticks… very tricky but we kept trying and got there

Seahorses busy making number flowers this afternoon! Testing our number correspondence as well as our fine motor skills! #numberdayNumber is everywhere! Seahorses counting their orange segments, and how many peels it takes to open the orange!

Seahorses starting their day by making number caterpillars! Writing the numbers and putting them in the correct order!

Seahorses have really enjoyed reading our favourite five stories this week and today they voted for their favourite.

Some super teamwork and maths knowledge in Seahorses this morning! Independently ordering numbers to 10.
