EYFS

At Bracebridge Infant and Nursery School, we know that the Foundations stages in education are amongst some of the most influential years of a child’s development. Therefore, we strive for our Early Years Foundation Stage Setting to be the best it can be, to make a crucial difference to our young children in their lives. In Line with the Early Years Framework, children engage in play activities centred around the Characteristics of Effective Learning: Active Learning, Playing and Learning and Creating and Thinking critically.

Our priority is that all children have a happy, safe, healthy start to their school life and that they enjoy each and everyday they spend with us.

Welcome to EYFS | Bracebridge Infant and Nursery School

Children in our setting begin their EYFS Journey once they turn 3, in our Terrific Turtles class (Nursery). In here, children learn the crucial PSED and Communication and Language skills necessary to support them in everyday life.

Children then enter our Reception class the September following their 4th Birthday. In here, children will build upon and develop their foundational skills learnt within the Nursery environment. They will also begin their reading and writing journey, engaging in Read, Write, Inc. phonics sessions and Drawing Club.

We believe in a strong partnership between home and school, in order for your child to flourish. We use a system called SeeSaw to communicate between home and school. We hold parent workshops to encourage involvement of parents in the use SeeSaw, as well as Read, Write, Inc. Phonics.
