Meet the Trustees

Welcome to the Bracebridge Infant and Nursery school website.

The Trustees and staff recognise that the first years in school provide the foundation for success in education and in later life. The staff at Bracebridge are specialised in teaching Infant  and Nursery children and use their experience to provide a dedicated early years environment.

We want to provide the best experience for all children. This means that all children feel safe, secure and happy in order for them to achieve their maximum potential.

The Trustees welcome the support and involvement of parents in an ongoing effort to make Bracebridge Infant and Nursery school a centre of excellence. The views of parents are important. If you would like to contact the trustees or maybe become a parent trustee contact Mrs N Gascoigne, Clerk to the Trustees, c/o Bracebridge Infant and Nursery School.

Regards
Mr R Pitman
Chair of Board of Trustees

Background
School Trustees are drawn from different parts of the community, such as parents, the Staff, the Local Education Authority, the Community and other groups.  This helps to ensure that the Trustee Board has sufficient diversity of views and experience to fulfil its duties effectively.

Responsibilities
The Board has a range of duties and powers and a general responsibility for the conduct of the school with a view to promoting high standards of educational achievement including setting targets for pupil achievement, managing the school's finances, making sure the curriculum is balanced and broadly based, appointing staff, reviewing staff performance and pay and many more.

The Board has considerable discretion as to how to discharge its responsibilities but is required to constitute itself in line with the regulations and to appoint a chair and vice chair.  The Board may delegate certain of its responsibilities to certain Trustees or committees , although in general, it is not compelled to do so.

The main Board of Bracebridge Infant and Nursery School meets regularly throughout the year.

The Board delegates responsibility for overseeing the financial aspects of the Academy's running to the Chair of the Board who feeds back to the main Board.

The Board uses digital technologies to review and amend policies rather than meeting face to face. These policies are then ratified during the meetings.
