We are currently using our website based home learning due to the large number of our families who are unable to access TEAMS.

Microsoft Teams will be the program that we are going to be using to support online communication between teachers and pupils in case of another school closure for classroom communications and sharing of homework activities.   The school has an Office 365 account so you will not be asked to purchase anything when you download or access Teams.

You can access Teams in 2 ways:

You can pick one of the above, or use a combination.

How to sign in to your child’s Microsoft Teams account:

  • To enable you to sign into your child/ren’s accounts you will need your child/ren’s email address and password to log in.  Please contact school for these details.

Each pupil needs to look for the name of their teacher and they will see two areas that they can access ‘general’ and ‘chat room’.  In the ‘general’ area children can access their home learning tasks and challenges set by their teachers. This is a place to talk about school work and discuss their understanding or ask questions with their teacher and other children in their class. Teachers and all pupils can access this area so we expect that communication is kept friendly and pupils make sure that they only write comments they would be willing to say to other people in person. If pupils do not follow this rule, then parents will be contacted and if the behaviour continues then the child will be blocked from using the ‘chat room’ area. It is important that all pupils show respect to others, just like they would in the classroom. Teachers will endeavour to reply to questions or comments as soon as possible (normally within 3 working days).

A remote learning agreement has been created to ensure parents, pupils and teachers know and understand the expectations from using Teams.  For guidance on using the Microsoft Teams, please see the PowerPoint below that demonstrates the main features for pupils:

Thank you for coming with us on this new journey into the online world and if you have any problems or questions after receiving your child’s email and log in then please contact us.  Please find below some website links that will provide you with information regarding online safety.

Kind Regards,
