Welcome to Nursery
A big welcome to our Nursery Class Page!
We are looking forward to working with you and your children in the Nursery.
This term we will be learning about the things we eat and how they can affect our health and well-being. We will also look at the changings state of foods by cooking, melting, mixing or freezing. Throughout our experiences we will work in small and large groups and take turns to share ideas, conversations and materials.
As part of our topic we have developed a Café role play area with the children. The children have chance to dress up, learn how to write menus, prepare meals, chat to their peers and write down their orders and also look at a variety of books about foods.
We have enhanced our writing area with images to encourage writing about our favourite foods. We are recording our own class book to show our fantastic drawing and writing skills.
On Tuesday 19th April we went on a shopping trip to Aldi. We made our shopping list and then bought food to bring back to school to prepare with our friends. On Thursday 21st April we had a picnic with the food we bought. Our favourite teddies joined us on the picnic!
PE is every Monday. We will be going into the hall for gymnastics this term. Please could you send your child to school in jogging bottoms or leggings. We will also be practising taking off and putting on our socks and shoes independently. Please keep this up at home too, thank you J
If you would like to ask us anything or have any concerns then please do speak to us. We are happy to help!

Muck, Mess and Mixtures
Year 2 and Nursery children had a fabulously messy afternoon together! They had a wonderful time with lots of messy mixtures including feet and hand paint printing, walking through flour and crunchy cornflakes, squidging our hands through gel and foam and we all had great fun!!
It was lovely to see our oldest and youngest children working so well together.
We celebrated Chinese New Year in Nursery.
A lady named Sol came into school and taught us all about Chinese New Year.
We all took part in a Chinese Dance workshop and danced with parasols, fans and even a Chinese dragon!
Today we made ‘Rainbow Fruit Kebabs’. First we had the chance to talk about the colours and name the different fruits. We then made our own rainbows using the fruit. Then we tasted our ‘Rainbow Fruits’! My favourite was the yellow mango. What was your favourite fruit?
As part of our ‘Colours’ topic we have been on colour hunts and we are working hard to name the colours. We have had lots of fun exploring colour by mixing them together to make new colours – we did get a bit a bit messy! Can you remember what new colour red and yellow make?
We made some amazing fireworks pictures.
